Better Than Wolves Mod for Minecraft PE: Is There a Version?

"Better Than Wolves mod Minecraft PE" is a common search, especially from players on phones and tablets. Unfortunately the answer is straightforward: Better Than Wolves is a Java Edition mod. This guide explains why, what that means for PE and Bedrock players, and how to avoid misleading downloads.

The short answer

None of the Better Than Wolves editions covered on this site has a Minecraft PE or Bedrock version:

The original mod targeted Java Edition 1.0 to 1.5.2.
The Community Edition runs on Java Edition 1.6.4 with Legacy Fabric.
The Modern Port runs on Java Edition 1.20.1 with Forge.

Why a Forge .jar cannot run on PE

Minecraft Java Edition and Minecraft Bedrock Edition (which includes what used to be called Pocket Edition) are built on different code bases. Play on a computer with Java Edition. This is the only way to run the actual mod. Java Edition is available for Windows, macOS and Linux.
Join a friend's Java server. Better Than Wolves on Forge needs the mod on both server and client, so you would still need Java Edition.
Explore Bedrock add-ons with similar themes. They will be different experiences, not BTW.
